This past Sunday, Friends of Crocheron & John Golden Park gave away 25 free farm boxes provided by Garden of Eve Organic Farm, thanks to a generous grant from NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and fiscal sponsorship by FJC (A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds). The volunteer group works with local partners and community leaders to give local families four weeks of free CSA shares from Garden of Eve Farm. This initiative supports both the community and local farmers. It is a step toward the development of a Community Supported Agriculture location for the Bayside area, which currently has no access to Long Island farm-grown food. This goal aligns with the mission to conserve the environment and bring community events to the parkland at John Golden Park.
