Garden of Eve’s

Farm and Nature Exploration Experience!

      

 Exciting, enriching summer programs for children ages 4-8.

This summer, allow your child to experience nature and farm life with hands-on games and activities!

Every Wednesday in July and August, 2010, from 10 am to 1 pm

Kids will enjoy the small group size and freedom to explore a real working farm!

Age-appropriate activities your child is likely to enjoy are:

• Our favorite: picking and eating farm-fresh fruits and veggies!
• Collecting eggs and caring for farm animals including goats, sheep, chickens and turkeys
• Exploring nature on the farm
• Planting seeds and learning how things grow
• Cooking some basic dishes with farm produce
• Working with wool from our own sheep and natural dyes found around the farm

Our First Session in July will focus on the lifecycle of plants, from seed to fruit. Each week we will explore plants on the farm that are in different stages of growth. After several activities centered on the theme, we will harvest the plants and bring them back to the farmstand to prepare a farm fresh snack!

The Second Session in August will focus on the animals and wildlife on the farm and how the farm integrates itself with the surrounding environment.

Children can be signed up for single class dates if they are not able to attend the whole session.

Registration can be done over the phone at 631-722-8777 or by visiting our farmstand at the intersection of Sound Avenue and Northville Turnpike in Riverhead, NY. All classes are rain or shine so be sure to dress appropriately!

The First Session will be every Wednesday in the month of July, and Second Session will be every Wednesday during the month of August. Each session will meet once a week for four weeks, and will explore the exciting and diverse environment of Garden of Eve Organic Farm.

Sample Schedule:
9:30-10am Drop-Off, Play at farmstand
10-10:30 Greet and Feed Animals, Song; Introducing Theme/Idea of Day/week through stories,
song, discussion, observation
10:30-10:45: Snacktime
11-12:30 Activities and sharing! Kids will most times be on the go around the farm, and lunch will be enjoyed picnic-style!

Prices:
$35/day or $120 for monthlong session (July or August)
*Price includes farm-fresh snacks and lunch each day!
