FARM VISIT PROGRAM 2008

We’d love to have you and your group visit the farm! On the farm, together we can do many fun activities to help you experience what farm life and organic agriculture are like.

WHAT CAN MY GROUP DO ON THE FARM?

We can custom tailor programs to meet the needs of your group, depending on your interests, age of visitors, duration of the visit, etc. Among the many activities we regularly have available for school or camp visitors to the farm are:

• Collecting eggs and caring for the chickens

• Harvesting crops: some of the favorites include tomatoes, flowers, and pumpkins

• Growing from seeds: how a greenhouse works, planting seeds and caring for plants

• Hiking in the woods on the farm

• Picnic brown-bag lunch on the farm.

• Beach visit: the nearby Long Island Sound can be fun for visiting or swimming.

• The art and science of composting: Learn why and how to turn leaves, grass clippings, backyard prunings, and kitchen scraps into healthy nutrient-rich soil.

• Drawing & Painting Flowers & Herbs

• Foraging for wild edible plants on a food and ecology tour of Garden of Eve.

Discover the edible vegetation all around us!
