Immediate Openings, start date March 2012:

Assistant Farm Market Manager

• FT year-round (reduced hours in winter), both weekend days required, 7:30am-3:30pm
• Multi-year commitment required
• Qualified applicants will be motivated and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced, team environment; and dedication to the health, happiness and education of our customers.
• Perform register operation, receiving deliveries, stocking and pricing
• Stocking and maintaining produce department, including some hard physical work moving crates of vegetables, culling produce, etc.
• animal, garden, and lawn care at times.
• Manage team members, and tasks. Assist with special events planning and implementation.
• Weekends and holidays required through Thanksgiving and possibly Christmas.
• 2 years experience in the produce, agriculture, health food, or food and beverage industry preferred
• Read and write in English
• Basic mathematical and financial recordkeeping skills
• Spanish language ability a plus
  

Compensation: commensurate with experience, company health and/or dental benefits may be available as part of a hiring package.

Farm Market Team Member

• FT Seasonal position, 1 pm-7:15 pm, one weekend day required.
• Qualified applicants will be motivated and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced, team environment; and dedication to the health, happiness and education of our customers.
• Perform register operation, receiving deliveries, stocking and pricing
• Stocking and maintaining produce department, including some hard physical work moving crates of vegetables, culling produce, etc.
• animal, garden, and lawn care at times.
• Weekends and holidays required through Thanksgiving.

Garden Center Team Member

•  FT Seasonal position, one weekend day required; AM shift 8am-4pm or PM shift is 2pm-7:15 pm.
• Pay is commensurate with experience, on the books.
• Position is seasonal with potential for future advancement to management level, season is March 30-Thanksgiving or possibly Christmas.
• Duties include: Talking to customers and answering questions about organic and naturally-grown annuals, perennials, herb and vegetable plants.
• Cash register operation, Stocking and pricing plants and hard goods,
• Setting up merchandise displays, pricing, and signage
• Watering and caring for plants, Planting and repotting plants as needed.
• Opening/closing duties including setting up/taking down plant displays, opening/closing register, unlocking/locking gates, etc.
•  Ability to do physical work is required, to be on feet for much of the work period, outside, sometimes in inclement, hot, or cold weather.  
• Candidate will have a genuine desire to assist and educate customers in product and plant purchases, and ideally some personal gardening experience or prior experience in a retail or educational position
• Spanish language ability a plus
